SUN SAFETY
- Babies under six months old should be kept out of direct sunlight
- When you go out attach a parasol or sunshade to your baby’s pushchair to keep them out of direct sunlight
- Older children should also be kept out of the sun as much as possible, particularly in the summer when the sun it is at its strongest
- Apply a high factor sunscreen (SPF 30+) to your baby’s skin. If direct exposure is unavoidable, ensure you apply sun cream regularly, especially if your child is in and out of a paddling pool or the sea
- Make sure your child wears a wide brimmed sunhat or a hat with a long flap at the back to protect their head and neck from the sun
- Avoid dehydration
